“BBQ, live music, decent cocktails and craft beer” channel the spirit of the American South at this “buzzy”, long-running spot in Chelsea and its more recent spin-offs in Covent Garden and Canary Wharf. The food is “more about quantity than quality”, although the “great-value lunch deals” are popular: “£10 meat taster is unbeatable”.

“Big, bold and brassy, with lashings of tasty American food” – a meal in this BBQ and crabshack is “like having a holiday in the southern USA”. And you don’t have to battle through Heathrow to get there: a King’s Road, Chelsea fixture for more than 30 years, it now has spin-offs in Covent Garden and Canary Wharf. “Our grandsons loved this place. We enjoyed it too, and the cocktails were nice”.

“Great lobster and huge quantities of meat” are the order of the day at this American-style crabshack and BBQ, a King’s Road, Chelsea fixture for 31 years, and its more recent offshoots in Covent Garden and Canary Wharf. With the in-house blues and rock bands, they’re ideal party venues for the whole family – “my children were vastly impressed by location, food, view – everything!”.

“Good basic BBQ and fried foods” plus “similar lobster and seafood options” (and “live music is another plus”) have kept this gen-u-ine American crabshack an always-packed-and-noisy feature of the King’s Road for 30 years (it was founded in 1991). “Good-sized portions” and good times are also reported at its newer, if less-established ,spin-offs in Covent Garden and Canary Wharf.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
