Harden's survey result
Summary
In the “stylish National Trust-owned surroundings” of this Grade I-listed seventeenth-century manor house on the outskirts of town – run these days as a spa hotel – this dining room is notable for its reliable standards, although it is “not adventurous in any way”, and the formality can make for a “slightly stuffy atmosphere” for some tastes. Unless you have a major appetite, you do “need to decide between afternoon tea and dinner” – both would be a stretch!
Summary
The “excellent food” makes a meal in this Grade I-listed seventeenth-century manor house – owned by the National Trust and run as a hotel and spa – a real treat. Cairo-born Abdalla El Shershaby worked his way up through the ranks in the kitchen over 11 years before his appointment as head chef in 2020 – so “watch this space”. Unusually for a dining room in such a setting, there is also a full vegan menu.
Summary
“Delicious” silver service meals live up to their grand setting in this imposing grade II-listed manor house a mile from Llandudno. Owned by the National Trust, it is run as a hotel and spa, and has spectacular grounds and gardens.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"We went for tea which was in the lovely hall. Very peaceful and attentive service. A traditional full tea with excellent tea although my delicious camomile flowers were in a bag. More than enough and they bag up what you cannot eat! Then a long walk in the ample grounds overlooking the sea. "
