After 10 years, this “lively” Peckham neighbourhood Thai remains a “consistently terrific place” that “delivers great food that’s as good as you get in Bangkok, but with a twist”. Co-owner Jane Alty, who makes regular trips to Thailand to research recipes and ingredients, discovered the cuisine while working in the kitchen at David Thompson’s Nahm (long RIP).

Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, this Peckham crowd-pleaser was an early proponent of “genuinely spiced” Thai street food in the capital, and works hard to stay ahead of the pack. Co-owner Jane Alty fell for Thai food while working in the kitchen at David Thompson’s Nahm (long RIP), and makes regular trips to Bangkok to source recipes and ingredients. These days they take bookings – removing the irritation of waiting in the pub opposite for a table.

Spicy scoff “continues to impress at this authentic and very busy Peckham fixture” – a corner site with terrace, which has been a well-known feature of the local food scene since 2012 (and was refurbed in December 2018). It’s not Thai-run: chef and co-owner Jane Alty worked at David Thompson’s much-vaunted Nahm (long RIP) back in the dim and distant past.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
