Alex Macdonald is co-founder and co-CEO of the leading hospitality and technology mobile app, Velocity. From the age of 23 Alex managed the acquisition, optimisation and growth of multinational manufacturing companies, ranging in size from $50 – $200m in sales. Harden’s: What was your best gastronomic experience?

Alex: Impossible to answer! But I have to say James Knappett and Sandia Chang’s Kitchen Table recently blew my mind.

H: Who is your fave Celebrity Chef?

A: Nigella… I have had a crush since I was a kid.

H: (Don’t we all?!)

H: Great British Bake-off or MasterChef?

A: MasterChef! Greg Wallace and John Torode are brilliant.

H: What’s your speciality dish when you cook at home?

A: Deliveroo 😛

H: If you had to choose your final meal what would it be?

A: That’s an ominous question, do you know something I don’t? Jamón Ibérico de Bellota to start, followed by an Argentinian fillet steak cooked rare over hot coals accompanied by nothing other than a bottle of Opus One. I’m not a huge dessert fan, so I would just finish off with a Calvados.
