Marcus Wareing will reopen his much-acclaimed restaurant at Berkeley Hotel on Monday (24 March) with a new look, new menu and a new name. Now emphatically called MARCUS, the dining room has received a £1.4 million makeover in an attempt to create a more casual environment.
Wareing says he wants the updated restaurant to have a ‘dinner party’ atmosphere, as the London dining scene has moved away from ‘stuffy formality’. He has even instructed his staff to be ‘more American’ and ‘less French’ in their manner and approach to customers. Have a nice nice day, tout le monde?
Prices, though, don’t sound especially casual. Two courses on the standard menu are priced at £60, three at £85 and four at £95. Welcome to Knightsbridge.
