Our reviews are based on an annual survey of ordinary diners which runs in Spring each year. But this establishment has not yet gathered enough feedback for our editors to write it up.

Do you think it deserves to be better known?

Write a quick review now using our restaurant diary service. That way it might catch our attention. Next survey, you can transfer your diary entry into our survey system. Everyone who contributes 5 or more reviews in our survey will qualify for a free guide.

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Highs and lows. Booked on line for lunch Sunday. Arrived a little early but they were happy to sit us upstairs. We ordered the cocktails and waited a while to order the meal. Eventually got to order. I ordered the mix of beef and lamb with no gravy. Mine then arrived with Gravy! The beef was barely medium not the rare I asked for, plus it had a little too much fat for my taste. It was medium quality beef. The lamb was a bit overcooked too. On the booking I put NO cheese, two of the three vegetables had cheese on. Wasn't excited by desserts so left. As you see on the bill my partners lamb was charged as Pork, which was interesting as pork wasn't on the menu! It has potential but service needs to he pulled up by the bootstraps. Waiter couldn't tell us what one of the vegetable dishes even was. Toilets ok. Ps cocktails were unquestionably the highlight Heard back from venue Apparently despite me putting in the specific request of no cheese and sending back the gravy covered meat when I requested no gravy it’s still my fault. It took two e mails before I got any reply. As an experienced reviewer I would have considered an edit with communication, but sadly initially none."
