A “veggie restaurant serving distinctive and innovative tapas dishes” in the heart of Bath and with “an excellent laid-back atmosphere” and “good and friendly” service, too. Many of the ingredients come from their own (chemical-free) garden. Top Menu Tip – “middleground beetroot and walnut pate, with pickled beetroot”.

“Creative and mesmerising cooking” – including “magical vegan sauces with astonishing creaminess” – draws an appreciative crowd to this vegetarian spot “in the heart of Bath”. The modern small-plates menu with a five-course tasting option is backed up by a list of natural wines, and many of the ingredients are grown in its own chemical-free market garden a few miles away. Fans say it’s “one of my favourite places on Earth – and such friendly service!”

“The food is astonishing”“creative vegetarian fare (actually vegan when I went)” – and the “service is wonderful” at this “warm and friendly” outfit in one of Bath’s oldest buildings. “They used to be called Acorn but changed their whole approach to small plates” a couple of years ago. “Food is imaginative and prepared flawlessly”, and there’s a “short but varied wine list”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
