Chef Robert Ortiz has introduced his “delicious and extraordinarily colourful Peruvian cuisine” to the West Midlands at the converted bank in Moseley he opened five years ago – a “relaxing place for a meal, with a spacious dining area and good service”. Only authentic ingredients are used, and the bar stocks an impressive range of pisco, the national spirit.

A converted bank in Moseley Village plays host to Birmingham’s first Peruvian restaurant, offering a range of dishes unfamiliar to the city. Limited feedback rates it good all-round and in his September 2021 visit, Jay Rayner of The Observer gave it the thumbs-up, saying that his discovering it in Brum was “like finding a gorgeous tropical flower at the base of a glowering mighty oak”.

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Good food but poor portions for red mullet main which consists of 2 postage stamp sized pieces of fish! On the pricey side."
