This “little piece of Spain in the Lanes” is a “go-to place” for fans of rib-sticking Hispanic fare – “people assume that ‘tapas’ means tiny little bits (when they often are actually thinking of pintxos), but this is hearty, meaty, gravy-drenched Spanish comfort food, and it is always a winner”. (“It was the first tapas restaurant I ever went to more than 25 years ago, and is still the best”“staff always shake regulars by the hand and also respond beautifully to us bringing others for the first time. Thumbs-up!”).

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
