“Good bread and tasty pastries” have driven the expansion of Rebecca Bishop’s East Anglian group since she opened her first “great coffee shop-café” in Southwold in 2012. She now has 11 branches across the region, including two with pizza ovens, a delivery shop and a bakeschool at Darsham. Top Menu Tips – “Portuguese egg tart & Danish cinnamon bun are recommended”.

This “must be the ultimate transport caff for foodies”, say fans of this artisan bakery on the A12 – part of founder Rebecca Bishop’s nine-strong East Anglian group – which draws more than just passing trade with its “lovely bread and lovely baked stuff”.

“Not just a roadside caff, a destination in itself!” – this “brilliant, friendly and bustling café/bakery on the A12” is “full of life”, with “excellent coffee”, “freshly cooked breakfasts and lunches” and “dangerous cakes”. There are another half-dozen branches of this artisan bakery scattered across East Anglia.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Very recently opened in a previous bank building, a great coffee shop cafe. Very busy, but service swift. Generous pastries, tasty stuffed croissant and good coffee. Offer gluten free options too. There are others in the area. "
