Harden's survey result
Summary
The ownership hasn’t changed, but this “small”, long-standing family-run Italian at Five Ways now has a kitchen run by MasterChef: The Professionals’ 2019 winner Stu Deeley. “It was previously a fairly intimate spot serving enjoyable Italian food reflecting the owner’s cultural heritage. The comfortable relaxed atmosphere persists, but the style is now more in the nature of small plates of extremely well prepared and presented dishes that are very fairly priced. Italian dishes can still be found on the menu but the choice is now broader”. (As well as this positive feedback, good vibes from The Daily Mail’s Tom Parker Bowles, who – in his March 2024 review – dubbed it a “Brummie Beauty”).
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
