Harden's says
Edinburgh restaurateur Tony Crolla (the Vittoria group) has opened his long-awaited £3 million fish 'n' chip restaurant in a former Old Town church; we now know the “contemporary”, 300-cover restaurant spread across three floors at St John’s church in Victoria Street is to be called Bertie's.
Harden's survey result
Summary
“Another venture from the Valvona family, in the premises that used to house Khushi’s (RIP)”. Tony Crolla has transformed this former Old Town church into a “large and buzzy” £3 million fish ’n’ chip restaurant (Scotland’s largest). Early feedback cites “very good fish ’n’ chips and friendly, prompt service”. Top Menu Tip – deep-fried Mars Bar!
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
