Harden's says

On the site of the original Little Chartroom, and still owned by chef-owner Roberta Hall-McCarron, this place will be a wine bar and small plates spot.

Some still remember these tiny premises as the original ‘Little Chartroom’ which formerly occupied this space, and which was transformed by its predecessor’s owners into this cosy restaurant, serving a contemporary fixed menu at both lunch and dinner (in the evenings at £70 per person).

The younger sibling of the Little Chartroom (and occupying its old premises) certainly holds its own against its forebear; the cosy wine bar and restaurant with high stools and wooden tables turns out “lovely inventive cooking” (often fish-centric) “with exemplary service” to boot; bonus points for the “great music!”.

This “outstanding sharing plates restaurant” is “baby sister to the Little Chartroom”, and occupies the site it vacated when founders Roberta Hall & Shaun McCarron needed bigger premises for their main operation. But there’s no suggestion that Eleanore is a secondary consideration, and its “tasty changing menu” wows all who are lucky enough to bag a table.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
