Harden's survey result
Summary
Sailor-turned-entrepreneur Ed Collison set up his popular venue at Emsworth yacht basin at the age of 21 in 2016, serving everything from £4.50 bacon breakfast rolls to a splash-out seafood platter for two at £120 a pop. During lockdown he launched a fleet of silver catering vans, and in November 2021 announced a new branch of the Deck, replacing the Boat House Café, at Gosport marina.
Summary
Taken over – and later expanded – by twenty-something sailor-chef Ed Collison three years ago, this “lovely restaurant in Emsworth yacht basin” turns out a “great breakfast” but is also a “favourite lunchtime venue on a sunny afternoon (they’re open Friday and Saturday evenings too)”.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
