Harden's survey result
Summary
The “delicious” Peruvian flavours at Martin Morales’s “atmospheric and reliable” cantina in Soho “set those taste buds on fire” – and “the pisco sours are great”. The restaurant celebrates its 10th anniversary this year (while its stablemate Andina has relocated from Shoreditch to Spitalfields). Top Tip: “the Don Ceviche is an absolute must”.
Summary
“Still the best Peruvian cuisine in London and still a go-to for a reliable, enjoyable meal out” with “tons of atmosphere” – so say fans of Martin Morales’s “vibrant and fun” Latino cantinas in Soho and Shoreditch, known for their “street-ish dishes with interesting combos” and “lovely pisco sours”. Ratings came off the boil a little in the last survey, however, but in November 2019 it was saved from administration by Alex and Saiphin Moore of Rosa’s Thai fame. As of November 2020 Ceviche Old Street is no longer listed as a location on the website, and we have marked it closed (even though it’s still only ‘Temporarily’ closed on Google).
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
