Summary
Launched in early 2024 above Sukhothai, an “ambitious newcomer” from young chef Varun Khanna (ex-of Sat Bains’ acclaimed venue in Nottingham), whose Asian background inflects this high-end British fine-diner; by early reports, “the food is really good, the tasting menu is excellent and the lunchtime menu is an absolute bargain” (three courses for £29).

"At long last Harrogate has a "fine dining" restaurant. Some very memorable food, the first few courses on the tasting menu were really good. The Lobster Chawanmushi and the Crab Curry were lovely. Strangely, when the plates moved on to the meats (lamb, duck and wagyu) the flavour dipped - dare I say that they could have done with a tad more salt? But our party of 7 all had a lovely lunch and were full of praise (and that included a couple who treat the Fat Duck as their local bistro)."
