This “traditional hotel” has undergone “amazing change” through a rolling modernisation programme in recent years, and its kitchen sends out some “very good” dishes of “locally sourced produce”. But ratings were undercut by a number of reporters who “expected more” after a rave review from The Guardian’s Grace Dent, and were “disappointed” by their meal.
