“A triumph!”“Exquisite food, meticulously prepared and as stunning to look at as it is to taste”, all alongside “delightfully attentive but unpretentious service and interesting wines too”, are the key strengths of Greg Anderson and Rebecca Williams’s “exceptional” three-year-old. “We loved Rebecca and Greg when they were at Morston Hall, and their talents truly shine in their own restaurant”. “Greg has a lightness of touch that many chefs don’t achieve” and “working out of a small kitchen, he uses local produce wherever possible to produce delightful food. He is ably partnered by Rebecca, who charmingly runs the three delightful rooms and front of house as well as being an excellent sommelier. The wine flight that she organises is a delicious adventure every time”. Most reporters also like the “minimalist” decor, and think “it’s a great touch having the cutlery cunningly concealed in a drawer in the table”. A large number of top gastronomic experiences are reported here. “We will definitely be back next time we’re in Norfolk”.

“Holt in Norfolk is a jewel of a market town, and Meadowsweet is a little jewel of a restaurant with rooms” that’s won acclaim as “a superb addition to the county” since its 2021 launch by Greg Anderson and Rebecca Williams. “Service is personal and spot on” and “the house and dining room feel warm and friendly without trying to be bleeding edge”. When it comes to the “ambitious” ten-course menu for £130 per person – “every dish is thoughtful and delicious” with “chefs all working out of a tiny space and involved in introducing the courses”. “Prices seem to have risen sharply since they got their Michelin star, but we think it’s worth it!”“worth the journey… bravo!”

“Truly world-class cookery… what an achievement to get a Michelin star after such a short time being open” – Greg Anderson and Rebecca Williams’s summer 2021 launch (given top marks in Harden’s several months before the Tyre Men’s accolades!) is one of the more exciting rural openings of recent times, certainly up Norfolk way. “Greg’s cooking is deft, refined, exquisite and packed with beautiful flavours, while Rebecca's service is thoughtful, considerate, knowledgeable and warm. When the chefs bring the dishes to the table they comment on the food with humility and charm. Not a false note or a jarring element in numerous courses.” One ardent fan finds the rise in price of the tasting menu since it opened (from £85 to £130 per person) “alarming” (although you do get more courses now). The most representative view though? – “Just completely stunning in every sense of the word. We were blown away by every aspect of our meal. Can’t wait to dine again!”

“World-class cookery” from the off, declare early reports on this summer 2021 opening from an ex-Morston Hall couple, chef Greg Anderson and general manager Rebecca Williams, who have taken over the Grade II-listed site in Holt that was formerly Yetman’s. With its “superb tasting menu at a reasonable price (£85 for 6 courses), this is definitely one to keep on the radar”. Alongside the “flawless” cooking, “service knowledgeable, polite, attentive, but also full of kindness and warmth”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"My wife and I took the opportunity to stay and have dinner, bed and breakfast and what a treat we had. The rooms are simply but tastefully decorated with the most comfortable King sized bed that I think I have slept in a huge shower with everything you need. For dinner we enjoyed the tasting menu with the luxury wine flights, the food was exceptional the stars being the Lobster ravioli, the lamb sweetbreads and the best soufflé I have had since we attended the Waterside. The Luxury wine flight was a bit extravagant but it was worth every penny, each course was perfectly matched with some very fine wines indeed. The service was impeccable with the waiters showing the right amount of attentiveness without being over bearing, a special mention needs to be made for the owners, my wife suffers from a serious allergy to berry fruits. This has marred many an occasion but not here where her needs were met fully and also a note against her name so next time we go there is no need to mention it. The dinning rooms are small but tastefully furnished, this leads to a pleasant atmosphere and even when someones phone rang they were tactfully invited to step out to take the call. This led to a lovely evening. After a very restful nights sleep Breakfast was as good at dinner. My only criticism no on site parking but Holt has a plenty of parking so this should not be a problem. In conclusion we had a fantastic stay with great food and will be back, Better than some 2 star restaurants that I have been to!"
