May 2022: the restaurant has been put up for sale, since being closed from March. Chef patron Tristan Mason said to the Sussex World that "the crunch had come when personal problems coincided with staffing difficulties and rising fuel and food costs".

Summary
Tristan & Candy Mason’s “charming restaurant” serves smart and “delicious” modern British cooking in a “comfortable” timber-framed sixteenth-century dining room in the centre of Horsham. Opened in 2008, it now has an enviable reputation as home to some of the best dining in the area – “by a long way”. The menu is cleverly priced by the number of courses taken at lunch and midweek, moving to “great value” six and nine-course tasting menus on Friday and Saturday evening. Top Tip: if you want to eat the full seven courses at lunchtime, you have to tuck in by 12.45!

“A great find out in an area of relative culinary wilderness” – Tristan & Candy Mason’s well-established destination occupies a converted sixteenth-century building in the town centre, complete with pitched roof and wood beams. There’s a range of fixed menus from three courses for £30 up to eight courses for £90, and the modern British dishes are “beautiful” – “creative (but not gimmicky)”. Top Tip – it has a bar where they serve breakfast and brunch.
