Breaking news
After just 18 months at the reins, Simon Bonwick announced that he was leaving this sixteenth-century, twenty-cover village pub “tucked away in the woods” and not far from The Crown at Burchetts Green, where he built his acclaim. While there was no clue as to the new regime at the time of writing, the chef had already taken up an upstairs residence at the Oarsman Pub in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Harden's survey result
Summary
“What a return” – chef Simon Bonwick is back on home turf at this diminutive and “lovely” sixteenth-century village pub, not far from The Crown at Burchetts Green, where he established a stellar reputation for classic French cooking over the previous decade. His food is “fabulous” – “precisely cooked with all the flavour you expect and more” (not least the “renowned” pies), and front of house (including wife Deborah) are “delightful, warm and welcoming with a smile”. PS – the chef himself created the artwork lining the quirky venue’s walls.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Dew Drop Inn Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Delicious food, with an exceptional Sheep's cheese starter (with Timut pepper) and excellent chocolate dessert with pistachio ice cream. Very high quality food in an idyllic setting. Far above the standard of most pubs (this is not pub grub) and indeed much better food than a recent visit to The Beehive (how can that also be 4 for food?!) "
