Harden's survey result
Summary
Callum Graham’s “sublime tasting menus are a real treat for the senses” at this much-accoladed dining room within a 38-bedroom boutique hotel – the best-known gastronomic destination on the island – and “the pescatarian version justifies the trip to Jersey with the knowledge that the fish was landed that morning!”. If you don’t want to go the whole hog, there is also a four-course menu for £89 per person, but in either case you have the benefit of a “fantastic wine list with a good heavy presence of French classics also but with some interesting New World vintages”.
Summary
“Out-of-this-world” food and “interesting wine pairings” help make it “an absolute pleasure to dine” at this renowned dining room, which has long been the best-known gastronomic destination on the island. Callum Graham has been at the stoves since early 2020, and regulars feel “he has raised the bar again, with simply stunning tasting menus combining sublime flavours and textures and featuring amazing local ingredients including, of course, locally caught fish and shellfish” (“the Pescatarian tasting menu is from another dimension”). “Impeccable” service and the cosseting setting helps it “tick all the boxes” for a luxurious treat.
Summary
Callum Graham has taken the reins of the kitchen at this traditional, luxurious dining room – long Jersey’s best-known culinary destination. Consistently well-rated over the years, ratings have, if anything, improved since he joined with enthusiastic recommendations from locally based reporters, who say: “under the new chef Bohemia has raised its game. Service is as slick as ever, and the little touches like the ice cream parlour pre-dessert is the best I have seen anywhere. Top marks to this team”.
Summary
Some of the best dining experiences of the last Diners Poll were reported at this well-known, luxurious Jersey destination, where Stephen Smith’s cuisine can produce some “stunning” dishes. Even fans can find the culinary approach a little “over complex” however, and the slightly “gloomy” dining room itself, “tucked away in a corner of the hotel”, is increasingly judged “intimate but a little uninspiring”.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Bohemia Restaurant Diner Reviews
"They say you never forget your first time! Well, this is now the fourth time my husband and I have dined at Bohemia, nevertheless this is the first time I have chosen to review our dining experience. I had booked this as we had always enjoyed the exceptional, individual, inspirational & enchanting food that Bohemia delivers, however I feel we were let down when we ate there for my husband’s birthday celebratory dinner. I’m not someone who likes to complain, but we were not given a choice of menus. Which makes you feel less like you are receiving individual service and more of a processed operation, we were sure it was a way of cutting costs and economics. When we first seated we were told that The Chef had chosen us a ‘surprise six course tasting menu’. Needless to say the whole restaurant was also eating this menu too! Although, I hasten to add we did not receive one of our dessert courses, so this was not six courses…. And, furthermore when my husband mentioned our main course of venison was lukewarm, we did not receive an apology or anything. I also felt personally insulted when I asked, if the champagne we were drinking came from the same champagne house as Pol Roger as it tasted very similar. The Sommelier then made a remark that it came from the same region. I am fully aware Champagne is made in the Champagne region, in fact I have stayed in that region. Come on Bohemia, think about how you treat customers. Surely, there is value to be had in the customer ‘is always right’. "
