This modern Italian bar/restaurant by Spitalfields is consistently well-rated in all feedback. There’s a continued theme from last year, however, that even fans of its antipasti, pasta and grills from the Josper oven can find it plain “overpriced”.

By Spitalfields, this modern Italian makes a feature of fairly straightforward dishes – pasta is a speciality as are grills from the Josper oven. Feedback this year was up-and-down, with some resistance to their current pricing.

“A delight” – this modern Italian “off the beaten track” by Spitalfields Market offers “tasty, well-presented food” in a “great atmosphere” – and the “pasta dishes are some of the best in the City”. There’s also an impressive list of wines, from the Italian regions and elsewhere.

“Outstanding seasonal food with very helpful and friendly service” gets a thumbs-up for this modern Italian by Spitalfields Market. There’s a “great wine list – including by-the-glass from the Coravin system”, and it’s also highly recommended for a business breakfast – “much better than the Breakfast Club opposite, and no queue”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Great atmosphere, excellent business lunch. Pasta portions are quite abundant, our waitress was really kind and with a full knowledge of allergens and ingredients."
