Harden's survey result
Summary
This quartet of family-run restaurants have won a big reputation for their southwest Vietnamese dishes, including pho and their famed goat with galangal. They started out 15 years ago in Shoreditch before heading across the river to Battersea.
Summary
This family-run Vietnamese quartet has won popular acclaim for 15 years or so on Shoreditch’s ‘Pho Mile’ as well as more recently in Battersea, Fulham and Wood Green. Hardly stylish but very “good value”, they’re “often rammed” with diners attracted by the first-class pho and dishes such as goat with galangal – one of the late critic AA Gill’s all-time favourites.
Summary
This hard-hitting family-run quartet “kicks the pants off lots of other Vietnamese restaurants”, with “food that’s hard to beat” at “very reasonable prices” (the late Sunday Times food critic AA Gill raved about their pho and goat with galangal).
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
