“A great summer spot with friends”: this 120-year-old barge is permanently moored in Hackney Wick – near the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – and provides a “fabulous experience on the water that makes for a great fun night out”. One reporter did quibble about the prices, but still said: “I loved our meal here – the concept is brilliant, with the interior of the barge turned into a cheerful dining room, and unusual dishes based on fish and foods grown in a kitchen garden by the mooring”.

Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"I loved our meal here - the concept is brilliant, with the interior of the barge turned into a cheerful dining room, and unusual dishes based on fish and foods grown in a kitchen garden by the barge. The service was friendly and helpful. So I would have given high marks for everything till I got the bill. £210 for two of us, only £45 of which was alcohol. It just wasn't of a calibre to justify that price. Part of the issue was that the dishes were so minute that when one found a particularly good one one instantly ordered another of the same, having devoured the first helping in one bite. "
