Harden's survey result
Summary
This swish and “buzzy” hotel dining room on the South Bank walkway – designed by Tom Dixon with full-height windows and a terrace overlooking the river – makes a most “enjoyable place to meet friends” – “and there’s a great bar” by Ryan Chetiyawardana, aka Mr Lyan. On the debit side, it’s certainly “not cheap”, and the food “could be so much better”.
Summary
“It feels like a place to see and be seen, which can account for the expense, but fun and with good river views…” – not a bad overview of this “buzzy” dining room, designed by Tom Dixon, near Blackfriars Bridge. (A harsher view is that it’s “a typically over-priced hotel joint, trying to be smarter than it really is”.) Top Tip – “super weekend brunch, lots of choice, and the bar is good too”.
Summary
“It’s such a treat to sit next to the Thames, with a great view” at this “sleek” hotel dining room near Blackfriars Bridge, designed by Tom Dixon. Its range of eating possibilities – bottomless Bloody Mary or Prosecco brunch, especially – were rated well this year. Even fans, though, say “it is pricey – so come prepared to spend!”
Summary
Views of the Thames and a chic interior combine to create a lovely setting for this well-groomed South Bank destination: on the ground floor of a swish hotel near Blackfriars Bridge. It escaped the harsh criticisms of past years in the most recent survey feedback: in particular its “super buffet brunch” with bottomless Prosecco is a top feature.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Sea Containers, Mondrian London Restaurant Diner Reviews
"The room is lovely, with a wonderful view of the river if you get a table by the window and would certainly be a good place to take visitors. There is enough space between the tables and conversation is easy, unlike so many eateries. The food was good, though the sides were limited and most main dishes did not come with anything. The main problem was the chaotic and slow service, which makes it hard to really recommend."
