Harden's says
After leaving The Royal Oak in Marylebone in 2019 (in a high-profile case involving accusations of sexual misconduct), Dan Doherty has quietly opened this spot in Deptford. Tila is open all day (with some evenings), serving "breakfast, lunch, dinner and epic Sunday roasts".
Harden's survey result
Summary
“Have been walking by literally for years… tonight we took the plunge for dinner... my goodness… the food was superb! Every dish used herbs to provide intense bursts of flavour. Thoughtful, exciting cooking, both tasty and well presented…” – Thumbs up for this brick-lined bar/restaurant between Deptford High Street and Deptford Bridge, which is heavily influenced by the Eastern Med, with lots of preparation over fire. “The charred aubergine is a must!”
Summary
On limited (but positive) feedback, this casual two-year-old bar/restaurant is worth knowing about, particularly in the thinly-served environs of Deptford. Many dishes are cooked over fire, and come with some eastern-Med influences.
Summary
Worth finding – especially if you live in Deptford – Dan Doherty’s year-old venture is a casual neighbourhood haunt, complete with bare brick walls, polished floors and picture windows. It’s open all day from breakfast and is most popular for weekend brunch / lunch.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Visited Weds 25/10/23 7.30pm Had a very good experience here with relaxed, informal yet prompt service. Exciting and innovative food and in a well spaced buzzy environment. Open plan kitchen with massive charcoal grill. Two really tasty starters - good sized mains with some excellent broccoli. Nice touches - all service included in the prices and chilled table water promptly delivered without request. Big pluses for me. Service: so pleasant and so good we cash tipped on top. Restaurant now closed - Sad "
