Harden's says
Originally slated for Autumn 2022, and finally in summer 2023, twin brother restaurateurs Alberto and Arian Zandi opened this restaurant – inspired by the cuisine of the South of France – in St James’s. It is the Zandi’s fourth restaurant and their most prominent, occupying the striking Modernist building next to The Economist magazine that was formerly occupied by Sake no Hana (RIP).

As with its glossy forerunners, Arian & Alberto Zandi’s year-old attempt to import Côte d’Azur style to St James’s seems yet to have unlocked the potential of this striking site (formerly Sake no Hana, RIP), which boasts 120 covers complete with open kitchen and ground-floor bar. Such feedback as we have is upbeat, but too limited for a reliable rating and in its first 12 months, despite its prominent location, it‘s been largely ignored by other reviewers too.

Aiming to bring Côte d’Azur style to stuffy old St James’s – Arian & Alberto Zandi launched this bar and lounge in April 2023 on the interesting if offbeat 120-cover site (now with an open kitchen) that was formerly Sake no Hana (RIP). A 60-cover ground floor bar opened subsequently, together with a similarly sized terrace. Too few reports as yet for any rating – little in the MSM to-date either.

On the prime but quirky St James’s site that was Sake No Hana (RIP), Arian and Alberto Zandi are to relaunch this 170-cover space in November 2022 (which also has a 35-cover terrace). This time, as the name hints, the culinary inspiration will be the luxurious lifestyle of the south of France.
