Owner's description
Park Tavern is an independent gastropub located in the heart of Southfields, in South West London.
All the dining areas and the beautiful back beer garden have been recently refurbished offering a sense of convivial atmosphere to its diners.
The interior blends traditional features like two real fire places and stained glass windows with an exceptional level of service and fabulous food and drink.
Additionally the front beer garden and the large, covered and heated, courtyard garden offer a natural backdrop for al fresco dining and socialising for whenever the weather behaves.
The food is strongly focused on South African flavours, with the wood fired BRAAI (South African BBQ) being at the heart of all their cooking. Succulent Boerewors, flavoursome burger patties, biltong, marinated Flat Irons, T-Bone and Club steaks are all locally sourced from South African and British butchers and all cooked on the open braai for extra depth of flavour and tenderness.
Park Tavern also boasts a wide selection of South African wines and bottled beers along with frozen Lagaritas and Rum Daiquiri slushes n the warmer months.
Weekly specials featuring Burger and Steak days, the most recent Braai Pizza day on Saturdays and an all-organic Sunday Sharing Roast menu make Park Tavern the ideal destination for friends and family (and their dogs) looking to relax and enjoy each other's company in the serene surroundings of Southfields.

Harden's survey result
Not enough people have commented yet
Our reviews are based on an annual survey of ordinary diners which runs in Spring each year. But this establishment has not yet gathered enough feedback for our editors to write it up.
Do you think it deserves to be better known?
Write a quick review now using our restaurant diary service. That way it might catch our attention. Next survey, you can transfer your diary entry into our survey system. Everyone who contributes 5 or more reviews in our survey will qualify for a free guide.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
