Harden's says
The Fraquelli brothers are aiming to add to their Brasseria stable in 2024, adding to the sites in Marylebone and Notting Hill. The latest, in Brompton, will finally fill the long dark site of the similarly-named (but French) ‘La Brasserie’ (long RIP), which operated there for 30 years, and will ‘combine Italian flavour and style with New York service and a Parisian grand brasserie atmosphere.’
Harden's survey result
Summary
For a “solid menu, with a wide variety” of “reliable Italian” options, this duo have a broad fanclub – both the Marylebone five-year-old and its year-old Notting Hill sibling. Their ratings are undercut, though, by a feeling that they are “expensive (but isn’t everything nowadays…”), and can “lack atmosphere when they’re not busy”. Top Tip – for some folks, “the most important thing is that they welcome both families and doggies!”
Summary
“The quality and consistency of the dishes is first-class and service excellent” at the original location of this Italian duo (‘La Brasseria Milanese’), which opened in Marylebone in May 2018. A second all-day offshoot opened in Notting Hill in autumn 2021. It’s inspired little commentary as yet, but Tom Parker Bowles in The Daily Mail praised its “handsome” styling and a menu of “old-fashioned crowd pleasers and greatest hits”.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
