Harden's survey result
Summary
This lovely 200-year-old pub in a Chelsea backstreet serves a very decent menu (including “child-friendly” options) and is thriving follow a smart refurb under the ownership of Rupert Clevely’s Hippo Inns for the second time – in 2010 he sold it to brewer Youngs as part of Geronimo Inns.
Summary
This attractive Chelsea backstreet pub – “good food”; “a good place to watch the rugby” – closed for a refurb this summer, following our survey. Its sale to Hippo Inns returns it to the ownership of Rupert Clevely, who sold former owner Geronimo to Young’s in 2010.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
