Harden's survey result
Summary
With its “marvellous selection of dim sum” raised to a “fantastic” level; “amicable and chatty service”; and its “well-spaced tables”, this low-key-looking venue “stands a cut above the usual Chinatown standard” in all respects.
Summary
Near the gateway leading into Chinatown, this undistinguished looking Chinese venue is one of the better bets in the area: the food is “always tip top” and “less clichéd” than often is the case nearby. Seafood is tipped as is the “excellent dim sum”.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Orient London Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Tables close together, noisy. Very average cooking, lacking any real skills, not bad enough to complain but disappointing. Braised duck not braised but crispy deep fried and then coated with oyster sauce with mixed vegetables on top. Same treatment to bean curd. Overly salty fried rice. "
