Harden's says
The De Visscher family have imported the model that’s worked for them in Amsterdam to this August 2021 opening in central Soho: their fifth venture and the first outside The Netherlands. And it's big, with 190 covers spread over two floors, and decorated with lots of white marble. On the menu – the clue is in the name – fruits de mer, oysters, fish cooked on la planca – and lots of booze too....
Harden's survey result
Summary
This “clean and spare-looking seafood restaurant” from Amsterdam’s De Visscher family is a “super addition to Soho”, with “platters both raw and roasted that are generous, super-fresh, tasty and not exorbitantly pricey”. It’s also “a great place just to drop in for a martini and some oysters at the bar”.
Summary
“No frills or pretension – just generous platters of great seafood” in a “variety of options (raw and roasted)” help make the De Visscher family’s new import from Amsterdam into “a great addition to Soho”. “Unless you have a serious appetite, the plates may serve two or even three with a bowl of fries, making the evening a steal.” And “it’s not a place to worry about table manners – just grab one of their complimentary bibs and your claw crackers and have at it!”
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

The Seafood Bar Restaurant Diner Reviews
"A bright, clean and open space - huge for Soho - friendly service, and extravagantly sized platters. Sounds great on paper! Where this falls apart though is in the execution, the fish cookery showing a heavy-handed clumsiness and some ingredients not giving the impression of meeting the quality you'd expect in the price bracket. Could do better!"
"The place was virtually empty which is never a good start. Having said that the room was huge, so not recommended for an intimate or romantic evening. As there were six of us, we decided to order the large seafood platter X 3 which meant two sharing each platter. Sadly, the platter was a disappointment; both in its presentation and its quality (i.e only two shrivelled up oysters). At the end I hardly felt satisfied or enthusiastic. Each platter cost £95 so I was extremely unhappy - as it just wasn't worth it. I won't be returning."
