Harden's says
Opened in late October 2021, an all-day Filipino restaurant, bar, bakery and patisserie from the team behind Kensington's Romulo Café.
Harden's survey result
Summary
“Worth a visit for the mural alone!” – this brightly decorated two-year-old, just off Regent Street, has “raised the bar for consistently good Filipino food in the West End”. Admittedly that’s not from a high base, but all reports on its BBQ-focused menu are enthusiastic: “you get little fuss, no hype, just great nosh and cocktails too”.
Summary
“A brightly coloured space” – this November 2021 newcomer (which translates to ‘Home and Family’ in Filipino) is run by the same crew as Romulo Café and gets a thumbs-up for “broadening the offer of Philippine cuisine in the UK” – “it’s great to have an upscale option for contemporary Filipino food in the heart of Soho”. One Filipino reporter feels that some dishes are too modified for local tastes, but agrees it’s “fun, lively and with very acceptable food”. Top Tip – “an array of sinful merienda/tea snacks in the adjoining bakery and patisserie counter”.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
