Harden's says
Originally set to open in Summer 2020, this Tuscany-via-Dubai import – part of an international group – set a new record for rent on its new Mayfair home: the 11,000 square foot, two-floor site vacated by Nobu Berkeley (RIP) with 220 covers. It’s one of a number of very high-end Italians to open in Mayfair in recent years: here, with produce and wine from the 700-acre Tuscan estate of the same name.
Harden's survey result
Summary
Owned by the Ferragamo fashion family and named after their Tuscan wine estate, this Mayfair two-year-old in the former premises of Nobu Berkeley (RIP) is certainly “a bit bling”, but has won over a constituency of fans who say “it seems to be right for the occasion, whether business or pleasure”. Plus points include “some fine dishes – including wonderful fish and vegetables” – and “a pleasant buzz”. The big drawback, if you’re footing the bill, is “the insane price point”.
Summary
The jury is still out on this ultra-high-end Italian following its lockdown-delayed 2021 opening in the Mayfair premises formerly occupied by Nobu Berkeley (RIP). It’s a “lovely space” with a “great fit-out”, and “the fish is fantastic” – so “all the ingredients are there and it could become really good once it has shaken down”. On the debit side, it’s “ridiculously overpriced” (which it needs to be to cover the rent, a local record). Owned by the Ferragamo fashion family, it’s named after their Tuscan estate, whose produce and wine are on the menu.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Il Borro Restaurant Diner Reviews
"The food was excellent but very expensive. Wine mark ups very high. Very generous truffle serving on the tagliatelle. One dish arrived quite a while after the others with no apology or communication. Great atmosphere. "
