The new, all-day neighbourhood restaurant in the hotel and private members’ club

A “beautiful room, by day or by night” makes this restaurant in a hip-by-the-standards-of Mayfair hotel and members’ club (opened 2022) “great for a date”, according to its fans. The modern British/Mediterranean food from chef Alan Christie is uniformly well reviewed in feedback. But it’s also “priced accordingly” for this wealthy part of town; and wines below £100 per bottle are significantly in the minority on the list. Given relatively limited feedback, we’ve held off on a full judgement of its level of value for the time being.

A “stunning dining room” – stylishly decked out in an elegant, traditional fashion – helps inspire good vibes for this recently opened, “understated-but-great” hotel (launched in spring 2022), just around the corner from the former American Embassy in Mayfair. Chef Alan Christie aims for a ‘Mediterranean flourish to modern British fare’: the result is “a cute menu that’s expertly cooked”. “Prices are steep but locally acceptable!”

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Really nice dining room and welcoming, friendly waiting staff. The food is very pretty, tastes delicious (octopus, good tomatoes, nice crab - all great) and is nicely done. Not the cheapest, but you will struggle to find good value anywhere near Grosvenor Square. "
