Harden's survey result
Summary
From veteran Hunanese chef JianRen ZhouI, this new arrival on Goodge Street brings an unfamiliar regional Chinese cuisine to London. Some “love it, and visit often” for “the range of flavours” on offer – a view shared by Observer critic Jay Rayner, who in his January 2024 review acclaimed “the best version of Chongqing chicken I have ever had the good fortune to try”. The riposte from some reporters? “Good, but not as good as some of the reviews had led me to expect!”
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
