This classic Cantonese in Queensway specialises in “delicious dim sum” and roast meats; and though “there are better venues in the area” you may still face a long queue at busy times. It also has a Chinatown sibling at 45 Wardour Street, London W1D 6PZ.

“You’ll likely find yourselves among Asian customers” at this classic Cantonese restaurant in Queensway. While perhaps “not the best Chinese food London has to offer”, the cooking provides “the real thing”, with roast duck the most recommended dish here.

“Roast duck is the main draw here” – although Queensway could be called “rue du canard roti”, such is the concentration of Cantonese roast duck exponents. Still, “the dim sum, roast meats and dishes from the main menu are all brilliant” at a venue that produces “consistently great food in what can be a chaotic environment”.

“The special roasted duck is rightly acclaimed as the best in London” according to fans of this “crowded” Bayswater Cantonese – although its near neighbour the Four Seasons is also a rival for that crown. “Expect long queues”, “friendlier service than some of its competitors” and a “slightly chaotic atmosphere”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
