Harden's says

Chef Kuldeep Mattegunta and Mustaq Tappewale, both formerly of Kricket, have joined forces to open this permanent location after a series of pop-ups serving innovative and adventurous Indian food; now available for delivery, with the restaurant opening as soon as it can.

“Luscious, carefully spiced and original food” wins high ratings for this “very good upmarket Indian” in deepest Chiswick. Founders Kuldeep Mattegunta and Mustaq Tappewale (ex- Kricket, Amaya, Benares among others) took over the venue from the brilliant, much lamented Hedone (RIP), whose open kitchen makes it a “great place for chef watching”.

“Really innovative Indian food” is making its mark at this newbie from Kuldeep Mattegunta and Mustaq Tappewale, who met while working at Kricket in Soho and have taken over the former premises in deepest Chiswick of much-lamented Hedone (RIP) – including the open kitchen (“sitting at the counter watching the food being cooked is fun”). “Unusual and superbly made dishes” put it “in a different league from most Indian restaurants.”

Chef Kuldeep Mattegunta and Mustaq Tappewale, both formerly of Kricket, joined forces to open this permanent location in Chiswick (on the former site of Hedone, RIP) in late 2020, just at the moment Tier 3 came into operation (and had coverage on the Beeb as a result). It’s the product of a series of pop-ups serving adventurous Indian food – little initial feedback so far, but such as we have says the Indian tapas cuisine is “outstanding”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
