A short step from Hammersmith Town Hall and its ongoing surrounding property developments – this “spacious” and stylish pub was taken over by an Indian restaurant during the pandemic (although you can still just drop in for a pint). The food is fair value and “very good” from “an extensive menu with some unusual dishes”; and the owners have invested heavily in the large and comfortable garden.

Formerly ‘The Hampshire Hog’ – this stylish pub near Hammersmith Town Hall has been taken over and ‘gone Indian’ in recent times. Nipping in for a pint, little has changed, but food-wise it’s more like a modern curry house. They are trying hard and it shows in the quality food and responsive service. And the big investment in their large, attractive garden to the rear really pays dividends in summer months.

Near the building site also known as Hammersmith Town Hall, this large pub was given a very attractive re-fit several years ago. In recent times, the food has ‘gone Indian’ and initial reports say it’s a step up on its former typical gastropub offering. There’s a “lovely garden” too, which now has a shisha menu if that’s your bag.

Near Hammersmith’s un-lovely town hall, this sizeable ‘pub & pantry’ has a particularly attractive dining area, looking onto its large garden, and you can also eat in the large bar. Even those who feel “there’s not a great menu choice” say a meal here is “an OK experience”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
