“Fresh and very tasty dim sum” ensures that this 30-year-old Cantonese over three storeys on the edge of Chinatown “soon fills up with regulars”. “It may be a blessing that the ambience is not exactly chic – it keeps the tourists away”.

“Higher quality than the run-of-the-mill Chinatown stalwarts” – this big, “reliable” three-storey Cantonese (est. 1993) benefits from a cute, tucked-away location in a small courtyard, complete with fish pond, just north of Leicester Square.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"A bit touristy, inevitably considering its location, but the food, largely Cantonese classics, is better than the Chinatown average. Dim sum OK but not outstanding"

"I was expecting more from a stalwart Chinese restaurant located in Chinatown. The food was very average, with all dishes (crispy aromatic duck; sizzling beef) no better than you could get on the average UK high street. The service was opressive, even for a Chinese restaurant, with regular, persistent (and unwelcome) requests for our orders and an attempt to serve the main course about 15 seconds after we'd finished our starters. It felt like they were trying to hurry us out of the restaurant. Would not go back."
