"We visited the Anchor on Christmas Day, and I'm sad to say that I think it will be our last visit. It truly is a beautiful old pub, but honestly - the food should be so much better than it is. The stratospheric price of the Christmas Day menu should imply that the food is fine dining standard. The roast potatoes tasted like they'd been in the freezer, the meat was tough, and the whole thing was tasteless and below standard. There are many other way better options in the local area. Butcombe need to pull their socks up."
