Harden's survey result
Summary
Stylishly decorated, comfortable and good value hotel dining room which didn’t attract feedback in our annual diners’ poll, but which in March 2022 Giles Coren of the Times complimented – in between lots of gauche commentary on the nature of Manchester women – for its excellent steaks, grills and fish. An even better read is the riposte a week later from Ben Arnold in The Manchester Evening News – similarly upbeat on the “wildly reasonable” pricing of the restaurant along with its steaks and wines, but about Giles… not so much.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
