“Utterly delicious French-leaning but more broadly European food” is building a culinary reputation for this recent arrival: a 40-seat back room added on to an established Francophile wine bar. “Front-of-house is run by ebullient owner Natalia Ribbe who makes all feel welcome” and chef Billy Stock’s small plates are “as well-suited to sharing as to having one’s own courses”. Top Menu Tip – “particular highlights (if on the menu) are the chicken schnitzel with Café de Paris butter and rhubarb choux bun… but everything is excellent”.

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
