"This tasting menu is prepared to meticulous and exacting standards but where are all the customers? At £90 the menu is offers exceptional value but the Emerald Room restaurant is located deep within the the very pricey 5 star Matfen Hall Hotel (which I think must be deterring even some of the most adventurous customers). The lack of customers meant that the ambience was somewhat “flat” and the relatively few members of staff became “overly chummy”"
