“An extraordinary event over four hours” – Matt Powell orchestrates the occasion at this ten-seat two-year-old on the market square, presenting a ten-course meal with “personal service and commentary by chef”. The focus is on the “thoughtful and inventive” preparation of “foraged and local produce, with many unusual items” (and, via their website, you can also book in for a foraging expedition with their local expert, Dan Moar).

“Amazing dishes, with unusual foraged ingredients” are winning some renown for Matt Powell’s ten-seat two-year-old – a converted bank in the heart of the town (which relocated after a year's operation in nearby Lawrenny). “Everything is prepared in front of you, then described by the chef before you eat in a very intimate experience”. It’s a ten-course meal taking 3-4 hours, with the current base cost of £130 per person – if you want to make a day of it sign up to go foraging with Matt before you eat the ingredients you’ve discovered that evening.

Matt Powell’s mission is to create ‘Wild food experiences in the heart of Pembrokeshire’ at this spring 2022 newcomer: a converted potting shed near the Cleddau estuary, which seats only ten. Early feedback awards it full marks all-round for his ten-course menu (at £120 per person) delivered over 3-4 hours; but is too limited for a rating. (In October 2022, it made it to the list of The Good Food Guide’s Top 20 UK restaurants).

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Our second visit, and everything was as good as we remembered, or better. The final dessert dish was a triumph. Amazing! Loved the interaction with the chef; great evening "
