“Oli Boon’s cookery makes every visit a treat”“fabulous fresh pasta” is the key attraction on a “limited but delicious Italian menu”, which “changes constantly – at this “high-quality addition to Norwich” which is entering its fifth year; and the food is consistently a flavour explosion”. (“Oh, and Oli’s brother Ben has never worked here: he’s a lovely chap, but is just in the name”). Top Menu Tip – “the parmesan croquettes are to die for”.

“Lovely” daily-made pasta wins star billing at this “really good Italian” from former Roux at the Landau head chef Oliver Boon and his brother Ben (Ben & Oli). The “short but varied menu” is “creative, tasty yet somehow still traditional in feeling – in the Italian way rather than a British take on Italian”.

This central Norwich newcomer (est. 2019) from ex-Roux at the Landau head chef Oliver Boon and his brother Ben (the Ben & Oli of its name) “always offers tasty pasta-based and Italian-styled treats, in a modern setting”. The commendably short menu “changes regularly”, revolving around a handful of handmade pastas, one main meat and one fish dish, and vegan options.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Oli Boon's cookery makes every visit a treat, as the menu changes constantly and the food is consistent a flavour explosion. 5.30pm opening time means you can get dinner pre theatre / film without rushing. Oh, and Oli's brother Ben has never worked there – he's a lovely chap but he's just in the name!"
