Harden's survey result
Summary
A Sardinian venue on the ground floor of the Eagle Works building, whose lengthy menu includes a good selection of pizza and pasta. Fans say it’s “a lovely place with great home- style food and a good atmosphere” (and, in his November 2023 review, the Observer’s Jay Rayner agreed, in particular liking the pizza – a “rugged crust is bubbled and blistered and chewy in all the right ways” – and tiramisu: a “cocoa-dusted rectangle of things done right”).
Summary
An “outstanding experience” awaits at this family-run Sardinian restaurant, bar and deli, on the ground floor of the Eagle Works building in the happening Kelham Island district. “The owner Raffa has a very clear vision of what he is trying to create”: an “authentic yet modern” joint where “semi-casual fine-dining is lifted to a level of unexpected excellence” (“well above typical Italian pizza fare”) and where “passion and humour are very much in evidence” amongst the staff. A sibling cocktail bar and snack spot, Kelu, has also now launched at the entrance to Kelham Island.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
