Large, comfortable and stylish hotel brasserie with large windows looking onto Eastbank Street Square. Billing itself as ‘the place for the first bite, the last cocktail and everything in between’, it lives up to its billing with an extensive menu – from sushi to “delicious steaks” via “recommended fish ’n’ chips” to bao buns and a variety of casual bites. It’s “a great spot for people watching” too and “usually has a buzzy atmosphere”. Top Tip – “good afternoon tea with dainty finger sandwiches and a great selection of pastries and cakes”.

A cool, contemporary boutique hotel whose “pleasingly modern” brasserie has a “buzzy atmosphere and an all-round good vibe”. Not many establishments feature as much choice as the all-day menu here: an eclectic selection ranging from British classics through modern European and other dishes, alongside the products of their sushi bar, providing fresh, hand-made sushi and sashimi. All this plus breakfast and afternoon tea!

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
