Opened in 2020 and now a firm part of the Stamford scene, Oliver & Joseph Regis’s quirky venue is a “delightful, if slightly cramped, space” in one of the town’s gorgeous 16th-century buildings, where Dameon Clarke (ex-of Rywell’s ‘Wicked Witch’) oversees the “well-accomplished food” – be it the small plates available in the bar or the relaxed fine-dining menu on offer by night.

“Quirky in a good way” – a modern bar/restaurant in sixteenth-century premises owned by brothers Oliver & Joseph Regis, who decided Stamford needed something a little different back in 2020. Chef Dameon Clarke (ex-of Rywell’s Wicked Witch) is at the pass of the “very snug restaurant” where the “ever-changing” menu includes “small plates which are a little eclectic but excellent value”.

“A welcome new addition to Stamford, with a well-known local chef at the helm” in Dameon Clarke, formerly of the Wicked Witch in Rywell – this modern bar and restaurant in a sixteenth-century building was a 2020 opening from brothers Oliver & Joseph Regis. The “cosy” upstairs dining room has achieved solid ratings across the board in its first full year. The downstairs bar has a balcony overlooking Stamford Meadows.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
