Harden's says

The Farmer's Arms was taken over in 2015 by Michael and Xochi Birch - co-founders of social networking site, Bebo. Their project, to revive the fortunes of this small village include the fish & chip shop (already open), post office and shop, four guest cottages and a hotel set within a Grade II listed Georgian manor house, all due to open by 2021. The pub (which serves light meals and snacks) has a separate restaurant.

“This pub with a relaxed bar as well as a formal dining room AND a fish ’n’ chip shop” is just the first part of a massive restoration project in the village of Woolfardisworthy (pronounced and written as Woolsery) embarked upon in 2015 by San Francisco-based internet millionaires Michael and Xochi Birch, honouring his ancestral ties. “The atmosphere is fabulous and they manage to provide food that appeals to all budgets and palates” – including beef, lamb and pork from the village’s Birch Farm. Top Tip: “excellent local hogget made into great shepherd’s pie”.

Purchased in 2015 by internet millionaires Michael and Xochi Birch – co-founders of social networking site, Bebo – their project is to revive the fortunes of this small village including the fish ’n’ chip shop (already open), post office and shop, four guest cottages and a hotel set within a Grade II listed Georgian manor house, all due to open by 2021. Initial reports on the pub (which serves light meals and snacks and has a separate restaurant) are too limited for a rating, but all positive: “the commitment of the owner, team and suppliers is clear!”

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
